A Message from the Mayor...

Fall 2010

Greetings,

It is my pleasure to have this opportunity to address you, the citizens of our town. Thank you for your continued support during the recent election. I am excited and honored to serve a second term as your Mayor, and I ask you to join with me as we continue to move Waverly forward.

It is truly an exciting time for Waverly, and I have several new initiatives that, with assistance from our new Town Council, will continue to improve our town. They include: Establishment of a Veterans Affairs Committee; Establishment of a Policy Review Committee; Establishment of a Holiday Committee; and Establishment of a Founders Day Committee.

These committees will be in addition to our regular standing committees, and they will be comprised of Council members as well as citizens. Several citizens have already agreed to serve on these committees, including Susan Seward of Waverly to chair the Police Review Committee.

I will also be working to implement several new community policing initiatives, including: Child protection programs that help parents better protect their children; Elderly and house-bound citizen programs, to better serve the elderly or disabled who live alone, and Residential and business safety checks for vacationing residents.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. I look forward to continued success and prosperity here in Waverly.

God Bless,

Walter J. Mason

Mayor
